About this book

Summary

Baby Benny loves two things more than anything in the whole wide world: his cozy crib and his best friend Woolly, a soft stuffed lamb who makes everything better. But when Benny wakes up one morning and reaches for Woolly, his tiny fingers find only empty air. Woolly is gone! Now Benny must brave the great big house on his very first adventure, searching high and low, near and far, for his beloved lamb. Chapter 1

Chapter 1: The Empty Space

The morning sun peeked through the curtains and tickled Baby Benny's nose. He yawned a big, round yawn and stretched his chubby arms up high. His eyes were still sleepy, but his heart knew exactly what he wanted first.

Woolly.

Benny's hand reached to the left side of his crib, where Woolly always slept. His fingers patted the soft sheet. They patted some more. They patted everywhere.

No Woolly.

Benny sat up so fast his curly hair bounced. His big brown eyes went wide as buttons. He looked in the corner of the crib. He looked under his blue blanket. He even looked behind his pillow, though Woolly had never hidden there before.

Woolly was gone.

Benny's bottom lip started to wobble. Woolly was his very best friend in the whole world. Woolly had soft white fur and a pink nose and floppy ears that were perfect for holding. Woolly smelled like home and hugs and everything good.

Benny couldn't start his day without Woolly. He just couldn't.

He grabbed the crib rails and pulled himself up to standing. His little legs were wobbly, but his heart was determined. If Woolly wasn't in the crib, then Woolly must be somewhere else in the house.

Benny was going to find him.

This was going to be an adventure.
